CHEN CHEN & KAI WILLIAMS
Chen Chen and Kai Williams met while studying industrial design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Chen, a designer for Moss, and Williams, a fabricating entrepreneur with a strong architecture background, got together in 2011 and started their collaborative practice. Creating everything from bangles made of stone to shanks made of sharpened bicycle parts, the duo investigate a wide range of materials, tinker with their intended form and function. Chen and Williams have shown work with Moss, Phillips de Pury, The Future Perfect, Matter, Elemental, Collectivo Amor de Madre in Sao Paulo and the Venice Architecture Biennale. Their work has also appeared on Sight Unseen, Design Boom and Cool Hunting.
